Political Beliefs Don't Equal Religion

Stop telling people they can't be Christians if they vote a certain way.
Following Christ doesn't mean following crowds.
With election coming up in a couple of days, I've been hearing more and more statements about Christianity as it relates to politics. Specifically, I've been hearing people commenting on how someone cannot be a Christian if they don't vote Republican, and that's just not true.

When I accepted Christ into my heart, there were no bylaws stating that I had to vote a certain way. Honestly, I'm not sure who I'm voting for. I don't care for either candidate, as is usually the case, so I'm going in on prayer.
Pro-choice isn't Christian
Let me point out a few things: While I don't agree with abortions in the sense of "oopsie, I can fix that," I see the need for certain health reasons. For example, if abortions are illegal and a child who is around 9 or 10 is raped, then she comes up pregnant, she has to carry that baby to term due to these laws.
I hear you, I hear you. "God wouldn't allow it to happen if it wasn't meant to be." I get that part, but here is the other side of that. A child that age having to carry a baby to term would be traumatic (on top of the trauma from the rape itself). Add in the fact that a child's body is just that--a child's body--and isn't meant for childbirth, and you could be looking at health risks for that child and the baby in question.
Here is another thing: We as Christians are not here to judge, and while we do need to be spreading the love of Christ, we shouldn't force others to conform to our ways. I've seen so many people turn away from Christianity because of how "judgmental" Christians treated them over certain areas of their lives. Taking away what a woman feels is her right is not the way to bring people to the Lord. If a woman has an abortion that is not for a medically necessary reason, odds are, she'd find a way to terminate the pregnancy regardless of the laws. All we can do is hope people see the truth and Christ's love through us. If they don't...well, we know what will happen on Judgment Day.
This and That
The constant bashing on social media of one party to the other has gotten ridiculous. One big issue is a lack of respect. Republicans can't respect Democrats' opinions, vice versa, and overall, no one can accept anyone's opinions if it isn't their own.
I don't consider myself Democrat or Republican. I follow politics enough to know the gist, but I hear and see so much fake news spread about both sides, and with AI, that's been even worse. I saw a photo of Trump with ET fingers and one of Kamala in purple being mentioned as the anti-Christ.
The confirmation bias is real, but the issue is, the information being used to "confirm" people's opinions isn't true/real information. Our candidates don't help when they stand on the stage and bicker back and forth like teenagers either.
I encourage you to not conform to a side. Just because you don't vote this way or that doesn't make you any less of a Christian. We all need to remember that neither party is perfect. They are both sinners like the rest of us, and we know that neither of them will fully deliver on the promises made. The only one we can count on to deliver on promises is God, and regardless of who wins Tuesday, He is in control and will take care of us.
