Living With the Messy Bits
People always show the good bits of life. The tidbits that make others look at their own lives and think, "Why am I being punished?" The truth is this: the truth is missing. If Patricia shows a photo of her dishes freshly washed, odds are, she has a pile of laundry waiting for her on the sofa. But, who wants to see that, right? Better yet, who wants to show that?!
My goal is to show you that what you are doing is normal. It is okay to not have everything under control. In fact, it is okay to not have anything under control. We don't have to have it all together because we are daughters to the one who ALWAYS has it together.
Mental health matters, so let's fight the stigma of imperfection. Instead of tearing each other down, let's build each other up. Life is not all about a spotless house, perfect timing, and being put together 24/7. Life is the good and the bad. Let's show others that bad days are okay because, if we're being honest, most of the best parts of life include the messy bits. Those messy bits are what make life interesting. After all, what fun is making a cake if you don't get it lick the bowl.
