Mirrors

Have you ever looked in a mirror and leaned your head one way or another to see things that aren't visible facing it head on?
Pretty much everyone has.
If you haven't done the above, you've probably at least made the comment that the mirror isn't flattering. Mirrors reflect reality, right? Sort of. You will never see the the full picture looking in the mirror, and it will always be at least partially distorted. There might be smudges on the surface or water drops, but there is always something to distort the image from being 100% what you see through your own eyes.

Not being a Christian and seeing the joy it brings others is similar to looking in a mirror.
You can look at the faith and fullness of a Christian and think how beautiful it is, but seeing the Christian life through the eyes of another is much like seeing reality through a mirror. You won't get the whole picture. You don't see the true extent of God's love until you accept that love for yourself. You won't experience God's grace to the fullest until God grants it directly to you once you take the steps to accept Him.
Another Angle
You can tilt your head and say you live morally and do good deeds, but until you accept Jesus as your savior, the angles you view Christianity from will always be incomplete. Seeing others live for Jesus truly is beautiful, but living for Jesus is another experience altogether. When you view God's love without truly being a Christian, it's like you're looking at the reflected bits and pieces of what you could have, and you have to tilt and tip your head to see the best parts. When you become a Christian, He breaks you free from that life and you can now see all the wonder, mercy, and grace He has been saving just for you.
If you read this and realize you've been looking in a mirror rather than experiencing the real thing, message me today at messybitsmama@gmail.com. I would love to speak with you about how you can start living your life for Jesus. <3
